Have you ever flown all the way around the earth? It takes a modern jet approximately 40 hours to fly all the way around the earth. That does not include stopping for gas. And the earth is not a big planet. Jupiter is so big you could fit more than 1,300 earths inside of it.
Going 12,000 miles per hour it takes 150 days to get to Mars, which is 34 million miles away. To get to the edge of our solar system: 30,000 years. There are an estimated 500 billion stars in our galaxy, the Milky Way. There are an estimated 100 billion galaxies in the universe. Saying this is a big place is an understatement.
And God made it all by simply speaking. "Let there be light. And there was light." (Genesis 1:3) My God is a great, great God. He is capable of great, great things.
Isaiah 40 speaks of God creating and calling each and every star by name. He stretched out the heavens. He knows where each of them belong. The same God who created this immense universe knows me. He knows my name (John 10:3). He knows every hair on my head (Matthew 10:30). Isn't that an amazing thought?
God is the only one worth my worship simply because of how incredible He is! How awesome, holy, powerful, mighty, and great He is. There are two overarching reasons why God is the only one worth my worship. The first is this: He is the only one worth my worship because of who HE is.
Next I'll share the second reason why God is the only one worth my worship.
