That kind of love is how we should be loving our Father. That's how we should be worshiping our Father. Paul tells the Thessalonians that we should always have God on our mind.
"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
We should always be rejoicing and praising who God is. We should always be speaking with him and listening to him. We should always be thanking him for what he has done for us. We should be rejoicing, praying, and thanking 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Rejoicing, praying, and giving thanks to God are all acts of worship.
This past Sunday our church worshiped with the song Holy, Holy, Holy (Savior King). The song is taken from Isaiah 6:3 and Revelation 4:8 where the angels around God in heaven declare "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty!" The angels declare this day and night, never stopping! They rejoice 24/7. They speak to him 24/7. They give thanks for who he is 24/7. That's what I want to do.
One day I will be in heaven before the Lord in worship 24/7. It will be beyond words. For those of you who think some of our modern worship songs repeat choruses a few times too many, buckle up. The angels have been on "Holy, holy, holy" for eons.
For now let's rejoice in God throughout our day. As we wake, around the water cooler, at the table. Let's pray to him throughout the day. At our desk, in the car, on the golf course. Let's thank him for his goodness. On the playground with the kids, at the check out line, and as we gather. Let's have a hard time getting God out of our minds!
Worship Him 24/7...
